SportsGrad in 2024! We're simplifying things
Changes to what we do and what it means for you
Hello friends,
Welcome to 2024!
I hope you’re feeling amped up for a big year of new opportunities, new networks, and massive growth!
Before we kick off, we’ve got a few things to explain so you know how we can help your career.
TL;DR:
SportsGrad is now not just about getting a job, it’s about growing a career (looking at you young professionals)
‘SportsGrad Pro’ is becoming a membership tier of the Community
‘Pro’ content will appear on ‘sportsgrad’ social accounts & blog
Firstly, how did we get here?
Since 2020 we’ve been helping people get their first job in sport, and you guys have done that in spades, Members have landed over 570+ roles.
What we didn’t expect was that so many people already working in the industry would follow our content too. We thought we were helping 21 year olds about to graduate, but we would also get messages from 35 year old managers saying they learned so much from a recent episode.
Truth is, the messages we shout from the rooftops about never leave you. You should always be networking, learning from others, and exercising your initiative muscle. And every so often, you may need a bit of job hunting help.
3.5 years later, all our early members are now working professionals, and as a result, our Community is full of more people who work in sport than not working in sport.
That’s why we created the SportsGrad Pro Community, newsletter, and social pages, to help professionals in sport level up.
However, it became a bit confusing…
Multiple pages to follow, overlapping content that solved similar problems, double the emails to keep up with
To keep things simple, we’re growing up with our Members and bringing all things SportsGrad under one banner.
Our purpose is shifting from helping people get their first job in sport, to helping people grow their careers in the sport.
That means helping people get in, and level up.
We’re on a mission to accelerate the careers of 10,000 people in sport and create a global sports industry community that supports each other.
So if you’re a ‘Sports Grad’, it doesn’t mean you’re simply fresh out of uni, it means you’re a lifelong learner who wants to make the world a better place through sport.
You might be looking to break in, level up in your current job, or you’re looking for a new opportunity.
If that’s you, we want to help you grow your career rapidly.
After all, the sports industry deserves to be powered by elite operators.
What this means for you
The SportsGrad Community
This is where the most obvious change is happening. The SportsGrad Community is being split into two tiers. You can either join as a ‘Rookie Member’ if you are looking to get your first FT job in sport. Or you can join as a ‘Pro Member’ if you are already working FT in sport.
For new Rookie members, join the waitlist to secure your place when we accept new members during a quarterly intake. If you want to start living the dream in sport - click here to join the next intake.
For new Pro members, you can apply to join at any time. If you work in sport and want to rapidly grow your career, take on more responsibility and progress to the next level, this is for you. Perfect for Rookie Members who just got a new job, or professionals new to the SportsGrad Community - apply here to see if you’re a good fit.
The SportsGrad Podcast
Not much is changing here, we’re still going to showcase people’s career journeys in sport, the moves they made across their career, and the things they do that make them great. Perfect if you’re looking for inspiration, career direction and best practice.
The SportsGrad Newsletter
This is going to be a weekly profile to introduce you to the elite operators who are crushing it and how they crush it. Plus SportsGrad Members can expect a curation of all our upcoming events and job opportunities.

What this means for you in the future
We’re big believers in people helping people, and this re-alignment is just part of the journey to create a global sports network who are willing to help each other find jobs and level up. This means growing in new countries where people need help finding work, connecting ‘Pros’ who want to pay it forward to ‘Rookies’, sharing best industry practices amongst ‘Pros’ and plenty of events to bring people together.
That’s all for now.
Thanks to everyone who sends us feedback and suggestions, it all helps continue to build the Community to serve you best!
Much love,
Reuben & Ryan 💛
