What it's like to work on the FIFA Women's World Cup with Media Volunteer, Vi Truong

This elite SportsGrad Member shows how you can begin to build your dream career early

Hello friends! 👋

Welcome to the SportsGrad Podcast: The ultimate guide to make it in the sports industry!

Each week we share how people made it in sports and tease out their career decisions, work habits, skills, and everything they do that makes them great.

All so you can learn how to get in, get promoted, and get thriving in the sports industry.

Meet Vi Truong, a journalism student who landed a Media and Broadcasting role at the FIFA Women’s World Cup

Still in the first year of her degree, Vi’s experience involves roles at the FWWC, a journalism internship at the Ministry of Sport, and now a Digital Media Assistant position at UniSport Australia.

She jumps on the pod to talk about how she received the gig at the FWWC, a day in the life on the Media team, her best tips for group interviews, how she networks in the industry, and how she creates experiences for herself so early on in her career.

Vi is a superstar SportsGrad member, who joined the community early this year. She dives into how being a member enhanced her journey into the industry, and how she utilises different tools to continually land epic roles. If you’re interested in learning how to gain experience whilst navigating your studies, make sure you tune in to this episode!
